Keynote speaker for the evening, Ms. Barbara Collins, President and CEO, Humber River Hospital presented us with a talk on the direction of seniors’ healthcare in Ontario.
Ms. Collins oversaw the design, construction and activation of the new 1.8 million square-foot Humber River Hospital, a unique opportunity to optimize design, incorporate technology and reinvent processes to deliver more effective and efficient patient-centred care, supported by some of the world’s finest medical technology.
Ms. Collins praised the work of the CBAO Seniors Day Program. Under the clinical direction of Dr. Giovanni Marotta, the Program is demonstrating that the decline associated with early-stage dementia can be significantly delayed through physical and mental exercises and socialization. Una Serata in Calabria 2018 raised over $220,000 to support the program.
